Hello!
I have recently been prescribed Valium for insomnia. Are there any boundaries you might recommend for avoiding a tolerance and having to take more? I am very aware of the addictive qualities and only want to 5mg no more than 3 times a week. I would rather have a few sleepness nights than become addicted to something. Will I build a tolerance at this level? I just want to avoid having to take more than 5 mg.
Thanks!!
Answer:
First of all Valium is not a good medication to be on for sleep because of its addictive nature. It would be better if you took either Xanax or Ativan if your problems are anxiety or Ambien, Restoril or other sleeping pills that do not have so many side effects. If you want to try the Valium, then stick to your plan & only take one when you actually cannot sleep, not take one every night routinely.
