Will Valium help me with my fear of IV’s and needles?

I’m having strabismus eye surgery tomorrow and I’m a bit of a wimp. I’m more afraid of the IV than I am of the actual surgery! My surgeon told me that they’re giving me Valium before anything, and that I won’t even care about an IV, but he also said he could give me a little laughing gas if I want.

Does anyone have any experience or know if I’ll feel the IV or what? I’ve never been given Valium before.

Answer:

It’s a muscle relaxant so i guess it will help you be more relaxed & less stressed about it. Hope all goes well with the eye surgery.

i was wondering if a low dose of valium 5mg and 2.5 dose of soboxone is dangerous?

i was wondering if a low dose of valium.5mg, and 2.5 dose of soboxone is dangerous

Answer:

Suboxone may dangerously increase the effects of other drugs that cause drowsiness, including antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, sedatives (used to treat insomnia), other pain relievers, anxiety medicines, and muscle relaxants. Tell your doctor about all medicines that you are taking, and do not take any other prescription or over-the-counter medicine, including herbal products, without first talking to your Dr.
I would advise against taking the 2 together, unless your Dr has prescribed them to be taken together.

How about my rheumatologist won’t give them to me. Should I ask my primary physician?

Answer:

there are meds out there to treat actually the rheumatism & I’m sure that’s what he’s giving you, you don’t need muscle relaxers cause it’s the joint itself & your doc knows this;; you can get hooked on the valium & again, there is no cause to take it;; your primary will probably deny you too…

What’s the difference between Xanax and valium?

Answer:

I don’t know the chemical difference or the classification difference. Xanax or Alprazolam is for anxiety and panic attacks. Valium is for generalized nervousness and muscle relaxation as if having a backache form muscle pulls. Valium is Diazepam. You can find out more on the www using the generic names. Both of these are not to be used while driving as they cause drowsiness. There are also other side effects which you can find, including weight gain or loss, dizziness, light headedness, et al. I will allow you to do extra research based on the above information,

I have taken both. Although people have different reactions to medications I personally founf Valium to be a stronger medication.

how much valium combined with alcohol can be deadly?

I just want to have a mojito on new years eve, but I dont want to take any risks. I take valium as a muscle relaxant due to neck and back spasms, I have fractured my t12 and had a vertebraplasty, but was thrown from a truck and it landed on me when I was younger and so now my neck and back cause me constant pain.

Answer:

It’s not predictable – based on body weight or any other factor. Fatalities have occured in adults due to respiratory depression by combining as little as 5 mg of Valium with half a beer.

The basic gist of it is that if you’re taking benzodiazepines, you don’t get to drink. Period. That’s how people get hurt and killed with those drugs. Both due to the respiratory depression and due to the fact that it multiplies the effects of the alcohol substantially.

Though, Valium’s a bit of an odd choice for a muscle relaxant. It’s not especially good at it. Usually drugs like Cyclobenzaprine, Carisoprodolol and Baclofen are preferred.

What does valium do when you take it?

Apparently I “severely sprained” a muscle in my lower back. The dr prescribed valium because it’s supposed to be a very effective muscle relaxer. The pain is unbearable and I need relief but I stay home full time with my 22 month old and I’m nervous about what the valium will do to me. Has anyone out there taken it and if so, what happened? Only serious answers please.

Answer:

Depending on how high your dose it it could make you fairly sleepy and slow to react. Either try to keep yourself awake when you take it, or have somebody with you at your house.
Also, Valium has a tendency to be abused easily. Addiction is always a possibility, but seems unlikely with you.
