Valium isn’t over the counter, its prescription only, so if you can’t get a prescription you can’t get any, unless you know someone who is selling theirs (illegal btw)
I don’t know, but if it is prescribed to you then it shouldn’t be a problem. If it’s for employment, they are looking for illegal drugs/street drugs.
test, so I gave a urine sample. I do not do illegal drugs at all, though obviously this prescription is in my system. Can the employer discriminate against this? I submitted the sample…..will someone from the lab call me to see what meds I am on?
It is very possible that this will show up. The most common toxicology screens test for benzodiazepine as one of the most commonly abused drugs (this is the class of drug that valium is in). However, since you are taking this drug under supervision of a physician, and as long as you have a valid prescription they cannot discriminate you for it. If you were taking it illegally or got it ‘from a friend” then it could possibly give them reason to not offer you a job.
The drug test is for a intership at a hosiptal. Do they test for Valium? and if so, what is a excuse i can use to why it is in my system. BTW i do not have a presciption.
they test for all narcotic agents and illegal drugs. sorry there is no valid excuse that ANY medical facility will accept if you’re taking narcotics without a prescription. that’s just how the system works… no employer is going to hire someone into a medical position that is taking prescription medicine that isnt their own prescription. it’s too much of a risk to their business that you might steal drugs. to the other poster… valium is still used very commonly in the elderly and in patients that have spinal/back surgeries and diseases that cause muscle spasms
