It’s not as addictive as the other anxiety medications, and is sold over the counter in places other than the U.S., right? So it’s basically like alcohol in pill form, only not as toxic. Yet you don’t need a prescription to go buy a drink or get a bottle of wine from the grocery store.
It would be great for occasional minor anxiety or to take while being stressed out but not very dangerous.
Answer:
yeah, its great occasionally; and occasionally you can go to the doctor to get a prescription.
Valium is VERY dangerous and I am not sure where you got your information that it is not very dangerous. People who take valium should not be driving and to say that it is not addictive is wrong to as you can easily get addicted to this medication. If they start giving Valium over the counter I will quit driving a car because the number of drug related accidents would be sky high.
i dont know where you get the idea it is not addictive, valium or diazepamis extremly addictive and lethal if abused with alcohol and other drugs,it can not be bought over the counter in the uk or anywhere in europe, withdrawal is as bad as with heroin
It IS very addictive

Oh, please. Of course it’s addictive. VERY addictive.
Get a grip. People would be over medicating themselves. People would be dropping like flies from ODs and the treatment centers would be busting at the seams.
Valium is highly addictive and can cause bad reaction in some people. While I’m all for more meds being OTC. Some things should need a dr’s attention. People should not be treating themselves if there condition is serious enough to take things like valium. Another bad thing about valium is a tolerance is very quickly built and there would be no one to cut you off.
Hell no…do you know how many kids would be bying the stuff or asking older people to get for them ,it’s bad enough that you can buy tylenol1 here (Canada). It is very bad here.So just imagine that drug being sold over the counter and any med’s like that can be very addictive.
No. I don’t think Valium should be an over the counter medicine. That I believe would be very dangerous.
